Dallas Sidekicks

Never Say Die! That was the rallying cry when the Dallas Sidekicks made an improbable comeback in Game 7 of the 1987 MISL Championship. Down 3-1 with only 2:48 to go in the final period, the Sidekicks rallied to tie the game, and then won it in overtime, securing their 1st title. The Sidekicks went on to win three more championships in 1993, 1998 and 2001.

Founded in 1983, the Sidekicks played 19 seasons at Reunion Arena in downtown Dallas. Along the way, the Sidekicks have featured many exciting players, including Mike Powers, Wes McLeod, Kevin Smith, Doc Lawson and Krys Sobieski.

But no player was more popular than Tatu. Known for ripping off his shirt and throwing it into the stands after scoring a goal, Tatu holds a place in history as one of the most accomplished indoor soccer players of all time. Tatu also coached the Sidekicks from 1998 to 2004, taking over for one of the best soccer coaches and general managers, Gordon Jago.

In keeping with the rallying cry from 1987, the Dallas Sidekicks are back!
